The SCCCD Wellness Matters app addresses the need for creative solutions to meet the needs of Mental Health Awareness and Services available to our College Communities. Specifically, it is part of our CalMHSA Supported; The State Center Community College District- Student Mental Health consortium (SMHC):Campus Based Grant.
The Goals of which are to:
1.Formalize means for ongoing collaboration and sharing of information and resources with community partners.
2.Administration, faculty and staff training to increase awareness of mental health issues and campus and community resources available to students.
3.Develop campus peer to peer support opportunities.
4.Establish a stigma reduction program focusing on stress, anxiety, depression and suicidality.
5.Create a multilevel system and culture of suicide prevention.
6.Expand best practices and programming for target populations such as student veterans, students with invisible disabilities, and underrepresented minority students.
